Комплект "Эксперт-003-ХПК" выполнен на базе фотометра «Эксперт-003» и предназначен для массового измерения ХПК по ГОСТ Р 52708-2007 «Вода. Метод определения Химического потребления кислорода» во всех типах вод (питьевые, природные, сточные) в диапазоне от 10 до 800 мгО/дм3. Для анализа проб воды с более высокими значениями ХПК допускается разбавление.
Сущность метода измерения ХПК по ГОСТ Р 52708-2007 заключается в обработке пробы воды серной кислотой и бихроматом калия при заданной температуре в присутствии сульфата серебра - катализатора окисления и сульфата ртути (II), используемого для снижения влияния хлоридов, и определении значений ХПК в заданном диапазоне концентраций путем измерения оптической плотности исследуемого раствора при заданном значении длины волны 430 или 605 нм (в зависимости от диапазона измерения) с использованием градуировочной зависимости оптической плотности раствора от значения ХПК.
