I got mixed feelings about the 320B L. It's solid, don't get me wrong, but I had a couple issues with the undercarriage, mostly with tracks wearing out faster than I wanted. Might just be the rough terrain I work in, but replacing tracks isn't cheap. That said, engine rarely lets me down, starts up in the cold, pulls decent power, and burns less fuel than some other machines we got. Parts are easy to get, my local dealer always sorts me out quick, so at least downtime isn't too much of a headache. Bit noisy in the cab at times, but I've heard worse.

I've spent some time with the Caterpillar 140M and have observed some notable points. The structural framework requires attention, especially around the welded areas where cracks tend to appear unexpectedly. Operating comfort is reasonably good; the cab design allows relatively easy control. Maintenance is above average by providing straightforward access to internal components, yet some areas remain cumbersome to reach for repairs.

When I worked with the Caterpillar D8R for a landscaping project, I found its handling straightforward, complemented by comfortable cab ergonomics. The blade control is precise, but I observed that consistent servicing is essential for optimal performance. Despite this, it's quite effective for most heavy-duty tasks.

As someone with years of experience operating heavy machinery, the Caterpillar 966 GC delivers commendable performance with its sturdy construction and responsive hydraulics. The spacious and ergonomic cab stands out, offering reduced operator fatigue during long shifts. However, its fuel efficiency could be better, particularly when engaged in demanding tasks. Overall, it gets the job done efficiently.

Having used this Caterpillar 140H briefly, I believe it's a reliable choice for various grading tasks. Its weight and build quality make it stable during intensive operations. The controls seemed responsive, and I appreciated the lack of rust due to its maintenance history. While the front tires were near new, minor attention to other tires might be beneficial. Overall, a strong machine with potential for diverse use cases.

I had the chance to operate the Caterpillar 320 recently, and here are my thoughts. Operating it felt quite intuitive, which I appreciate. The cab, though, felt slightly confined after extended hours. Its performance in lifting tasks was consistent and reliable. Maintainability is reasonable, though I encountered some challenges with fluid refills. Overall, a solid machine for professional applications.

Just got off a project using the Caterpillar 972M XE. The dynamic tip-off feature is great for truck loading, making operations quicker. The ride control with the cushioning system ensures a smoother experience even over uneven terrain. That said, while its noise reduction worked fine, I felt it could be improved, especially during extended use periods. The stability with the wider tires is solid, offering excellent balance during lifts.

Used the 432 on a project recently, and it's impressive overall. The cabin improvements, like the swivel seat and touchscreen, increase convenience significantly. The fuel efficiency due to the updated engine is another plus. However, transitioning to the electronic controls from hydraulic ones has a slight learning curve.

Used this same model for a couple contracts, cab was quiet and I liked that digital display, easy to read. Travel pedal works alright, gets you across bigger lots faster. Factory HVAC is there, although I barely used it cause temps were mild. The machine looks pretty good and didn’t feel worn out, but the seat could use some extra padding if you’re in it all day, my back started to ache after a while. Controls are switchable which I appreciate since some of the guys on my crew run the alternate pattern. Didn’t have any unexpected breakdowns, which is always nice. Price seemed fair to me compared to others I looked at.

I've spent a few hours operating the Caterpillar 972M model. Noticed that the CVT transmission offers smooth shifting. The joystick controls are quite responsive, but adjusting to the lack of a steering wheel took a moment-it feels natural after setting in, though. Cab's quietness is remarkable.
