Used the SD22 on a recent project requiring significant earthmoving. The hydraulically connected gearbox caught my attention-smooth shifting and consistent performance under load. However, I felt that access to spare parts in the cab could be better organized for quicker retrieval. Air conditioning in the cab prevented major fatigue during prolonged operations, which was great. Though efficient, certain aspects might benefit from slight refinements to optimize user convenience.

I've gotten some hours with the Shantui SD22, and here's what stands out. The cab setup is decent-having the air conditioning onboard helps during longer operations, especially in hot conditions. However, the control panel could be more intuitive for quick glances during intense work sessions. The engine, a Cummins, performs well and delivers the necessary power, but it doesn’t particularly excel above its class competitors. Overall, for someone in need of a functional and fairly comfortable unit, it's a solid consideration.

I've put in a good amount of hours on the Shantui SD22 lately. The semi-U blade is solid, holds up well with most loads, but sometimes sticks a bit if the debris is sticky. Noticed that running the three shank ripper is fine for mixed ground, although it's not as smooth cutting through tougher patches. The Cummins 855C engine is one thing I actually liking here, pulls strong and doesn't seem to drink too much fuel, which is a nice break for the wallet. Cab comfort is typical, nothing special but nothing to complain about either. Controls are pretty basic, hydraulic drive makes it manageable. Not the quietest thing inside but gets the job done. Haven't had any weird issues so far - reliability seems solid. Maintenance is standard, no surprises.

So, worked a bit with the SD22. The operational smoothness caught my attention; it seemed better than I expected. Fuel efficiency is commendable, but I encountered minor lags during intensive tasks. Maintenance is fine; spare parts availability isn’t a concern. Comfort inside the cab feels average. Thinking of its overall package, it holds up okay.
